WHAT IS ROOTS & SHOOTS?
Roots & Shoots” is a global and local transformation program launched in 1991 by Jane Goodall, inspired by 12 young people in Tanzania who came together to seek solutions for the challenges in their environment. Today, it unites millions of children and young people in more than 70 countries, supporting them to become sources of inspiration in their communities and to lead change.
Roots & Shoots works for the environment, animals, and people. It is inspired by children and young people, while also inspiring them, offering strength, courage, and the space to take action together. The program guides them to follow their passions, realize their dreams, and become the change the world needs. It supports efforts not only to live in harmony with people, but also with all elements of the Earth.
